About Community Medical Services & Essential Drugs
CMS & ED refers to Community Medical Services and Essential Drugs. CMS ED is a community health services course specially designed to cater to the needs of communities in terms of healthcare facilities. Approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and validated by the Supreme Court of India, the course is primarily targeted towards the rural sector due to the shortage of medical practitioners.
Duration of course: 3 years (6 semesters)
The main objectives of this initiative are primary health care access to people by providing affordable medicines and effective delivery of essential medicines.

Eligibility Criteria
- To join this course, you need to have completed your 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as your main subjects. You should have at least 50% marks or more from a recognized board.
- If you finished 10th grade and have a two-year diploma, you can directly join the second year (3rd semester) of the course.
- Once you sign up for the university, you have to give them your documents for checking, and they will assign you a seat.
- Since this is a medical course, it's important for students to maintain good health.
